Have U Seen Them ?????

You know you are an Indian (Desi) techie in US when:

* Your "wild" Friday Night plans involve watching a movie.

* You know more about cell phones than you do abt women.

* It's been ten years since you left home but you still have some of your Indian underwear intact.

* The words P2P, B2B, J2ME and UML don't surprise you one bit.

* If you're single then you share a house - doesn't matter where you are and what you do - you've never stayed alone.

* You go everywhere in groups - movie halls, hiking trips, romantic dates, shopping - everything.

AND THE NUMERO UNO WAY TO KNOW THAT U ARE A DESI TECHIE in US IS WHEN

* Your dream car is a Honda Civic.

Comments:
I disagree about the "women" part... after all, we are from the land of the KamaSutra...

Wotsay?

Love, laughter n keep the faith!

:) Most of this must be true of techie men in apna des as well, after all it is the original breeding ground of this species! :)

And the knowledge that you know more about cellphones than women is a good thing. Decidedly half the battle won! :)

Is that true ?

I am so happy for not being a techie and not in US [its a different story that I can't be.]

@namesake - wmen? what, eh? what are they? i remember knowing abt them a long time back. naaah, no idea what you are talking abt :)

@soup - that's true - we do train them well. as far as the cell phones are concerned - "we" hope "they" will be one call away but they take the away part too seriously :(

@debalina - 80% kids wanna be a techie when they are young and 80% of the techies wanna be a kid to rethink their decision :)

"You go everywhere in groups - movie halls, hiking trips, romantic dates, shopping - everything." Good observation!
A very old Time article named male friendship (asexual, ofcourse) a disaster of US society.
So techies don't just bring knowledge and long-lasting underwear from India but also some social structures which are worthy of replication.

Hahahah! Very True :)
